“I wanted to say congratulations to you and all the Portland volunteers for running a fun and successful event last weekend!”
Heather Pikor President Ottawa Pacers.
I felt the day was very successful. Your group deserve a lot of fan fare! An exceptional job, well done.”:
Sue Dunfield. Manager community and leisure services Township of Rideau Lakes.
“Our whole family had a great day out at the Skate the Lake in Portland. We had all been looking forward to the day and were certainly not disappointed. My husband and 4 kids all do short track skating and attend regular meets so it made a change to be part of a long track competition. My twelve year old daughter, Rosanna, is interested in getting into long track next season and keeping your rink open for a longer period would certainly be beneficial to her as well as regular days out for fun and fitness for all the family. Several members from the Kingston Striders were at the Skate the Lake and we came back to the club full of enthusiasm and encouragement for everyone to attend next year.”

“Looking forward to seeing you in the summer when I visit the area again.”
Rob Kramer – Boston USA – 3rd place overall 50K 2004
