PORTLAND OUTDOORS RECEIVED ANNUAL SCOTLAND FUNERAL HOME 
SERVICE GRANT

PORTLAND, ONTARIO - DEC 20, 2007 - Portland Outdoors is proud to announce it has been selected for the annual Scotland Funeral Home Service Grant.

”We realize the officers and members involved are strictly on a volunteer basis and rely on local donations and fundraising. It is also important for us to know that your organization does not only include families from the village of Portland, but to all of those in the surrounding communities encompassed within the Township of Rideau Lakes and the North Leeds Region,” said Dave Scotland, head of the grant selection committee.

The annual Scotland Funeral Home Service Grant has been awarded for more than 10 years to as many community groups in North Leeds.

”I sincerely feel that what you and your group is doing is truly remarkable as you are celebrating the fifth anniversary. You have created global awareness by holding this event, and yet one more reason for many people to experience, admire and fall in love with our tiny part of Ontario,” Scotland said.

The Grant Committee also added that Skate the Lake brings health and welfare to the residents of the area as well as an appreciation for the great outdoors.
