Jennifer Crosby of the Portland Football
Club's U14 girls team finished the soccer season as one of eastern Ontario's
most productive players. Crosby scored 12 goals in 15 games this season
as the girls of head coach Scott Halladay finished in fifth place in their
division of eight teams.
The U18 boys of head coach Ryan Gardiner finished their season on a winning
note with a 2-1 victory over St. Lawrence United. Jordan Duncan scored
both PFC goals. The U18 boys finished third in their division with 13
points out of 14 games. Duncan scored nine of PFC's 28 goals.
The U11 girls, coached by Anders Carson, also wrapped up their season.
Aleisha Carty, Emilia Carson, Taylor Bresee and Kathleen Archambault scored
for the U11 girls this year.
The U11 PFC boys had a solid win to complete their season. The boys of
coach Shawn Merriman beat the Prince Edward County Eagles 4-1 at home
on Thursday.
The Eagles scored first but PFC evened the score before half time with
a goal from Gabe Leggett.
Matthew Seed stole the ball from the Eagles early in the second half and
passed it to Ethan Seed who made it 2-1. It was the first of Seed's two
goals and Braiden Wing completed the scoring for the U11 boys. PFC keeper,
Reid Caron played an outstanding game.
Last week, the U13 boys posted a huge win over Frontenac. Earlier in the
year, they defeated the same team 2-1 but on August 21st PFC hammered
the visitors 10-0.
Joseph Bresee, Hunter Lapierre, Jessie Harris, Broden Hawkins, Kurtis
Day scored a goal each, but Jozef Olesen stole the show with five markers.
The boys are currently sitting in third place in their division behind
St. Lawrence United and Kingston United. They won eight of their 12 games
so far and have two home games left on Tuesday Sept. 2 and Thursday Sept.
4. Both games start at 6 p.m. at
Kin Park on Harlem Road.

to the Dalecarlia Cup in Sweden in 2010 will also play.
