PFC teams start season this week

All three squads of the Portland Football Club will play their first game
of the season in the East Region Soccer League (ERSL) this week.
On Wednesday, May 23, the U11 boys team, coached by Shawn Merriman and
Craig Lapierre, plays Kingston United. That game starts at LaSalle High
School at 6:30 p.m.
The U16 boys, coached by Anders Carson and Aaron Lynn, are the only PFC
team playing at Kin Park on Harlem Road in Portland this week.
On Thursday, May 24, the boys take on Belleville ÔAÕ at 6:30 p.m. Warm
weather is expected for Thursday and fans are encouraged to bring their
own lawn chair.
The U13 girls, coached by Scott Halladay, also play their first game on
Thursday. The squad will be in Belleville for a 6:30 p.m. start. Fans
of PFC are also encouraged to come to the screening of Going for Gold
at Gothia on Wednesday, May 30.
Going for Gold at Gothia is a 2005 movie about the Portland Football Club
as they overcome obstacles and travel to Sweden to play in the Gothia
Cup.
It will begin at 8:30 p.m. at 14 Water Street, the former Gallagher House
