All six Portland Football Club teams
remain without a win now that the first round of the East Region Soccer
League regular season has been completed.
The PFC U10 boys opened their season with losses against Belleville and
Napanee. The team of coach Lisa Seed will try to improve their record
when they will face Quinte West at home on Monday.
The U12 boys of coach Kate Wing will face the Cataraqui Clippers at home
this Tuesday. The PFC boys have encountered a narrow 2-0 loss in their
season opener against Quinte West.
Nathan Rogers and Broden Hawkins scored for the U14 boys, but the goals
were not enough to overcome the three markers scored by Belleville last
week.
The U18 boys will play in Portland on Sunday at 11 a.m. Ryan Gardiner's
team will take on the Ottawa Internationals. So far, Micheal O'Meara is
the lone goal scorer for the oldest Portland team, which lost their opener
3-1 to Cumberland United on May 19.
Emilia Carson and Aleisha Carty scored for the U11 girls as the team of
head coach Brad Banks collected it's first tie of the season. On May 28,
the girls played the Cataraqui Clippers to a 2-2 score.
Rachael Schliesmann and Michaela Halladay scored in the U15 girls first
game of the season but the markers didn't stop St. Lawrence United from
winning.
