"It was a fantastic game, the best game weÕve played," said PFC coach Anders Carson after his Portland Football Club (PFC) lost 5-3 against Kingston United on Thursday.

Under the watchful eye of close to 80 soccer fans at Kin Park on Harlem Road PFC surprised not only the crowd but the visiting team as well.

After all, Kingston United defeated Quite West earlier this season, while Quinte West trounced PFC 9-0 two weeks ago. Kingston went up 2-0, but before the half time mark, PFC closed the gap to one by Nathan TeixeiraÕs first goal of the game.

Early in the second half, Kingston scored 3-1, but in typical PFC style Ð never give up Ð Teixeira again made the most out of the opportunities his team mates helped to create, scoring two unanswered goals.

Moments later PFC moved up 4-3 but the goal was disallowed on an off side call. The unlawful goal changed the momentum in the game, and Kingston United capitalized.

The visitors went up 4-3, and while PFC tried all they could to tie the game once again, the final score was 5-3 for Kingston. "Everyone worked hard, it was all teamwork. It was the whole team that made it happen," said Carson. "They donÕt give up, this is what I like.

Even though we were down 3-1." PFC has now won one, tied one, and lost two of their games in the East Region Soccer League.

Nathan Teixeira scored all five PFC goals during the regular season.
