The Portland Football Club continues to improve in its first year
in the highly competitive East Region Soccer League. On Thursday
the league leaders Quinte West visited Kin Park on Harlem Road.
At the 70-minute mark the score was 4-2 for the visitors, however,
PFC could not hold it together, giving up five goals in the final
20 minutes.
PFC started with 13-year-old goalie Robbie Patterson, who made some
outstanding saves in the first half, including a 40th minute one-handed
stop on a cracker from just outside of the box. Ryan Patterson,
who spensd most of the day haying in the hot sun before making it
to the game, scored both goals for PFC.
Today, Thursday July 27, PFC plays in Brockville at 6:30 p.m.
